Fire Station No. 50
Client: City of San Antonio
Description
This project was part of the City of San Antonio 2007-2012 Bond Program. As a sub-consultant, UNINTECH provided structural and civil engineering and surveying services for the design of an approximately 11,600 sq.ft. fire station. Design of the fire station encompassed apparatus bays, EMS bays, and work/living areas. The structural design included concrete grade beams supported by deep foundation system, complex roof system consisting of rolled beams and bowstring steel joists, exterior CMU masonry walls and masonry shear walls. The fire stations received LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.UNINTECH’s civil engineers designed and inspected sidewalks, drainage channels, water and wastewater distribution systems, and underground utility construction. Civil work also involved grading, paving, dimensional control plan, drainage plan, SW3P, water plan and platting the property. In addition, our surveyors conducted boundary survey and topographic mapping services; located physical features and utilities; established horizontal and vertical control; and produced engineered drawings for use by design engineers, architects, and site and building contractors. Surveying services included acquiring ownership information and locating utilities. UNINTECH provided full bid phase and construction phase services, project preliminary and final inspection and construction evaluations.
